PEAK Financial Group, the nation's top independent multidisciplinary dealer, has inked a deal with Canada's top online estate planning platform.

Through the new partnership with Willful, PEAK advisors will be able to broaden and diversify the range of services they provide to their clients by providing them with discounted access to digital will-drafting services, powers of attorney, and other pre-planning arrangements.

“Financial advisors are instrumental in helping their clients accumulate wealth throughout their lifetime, and they can also be an expert resource to help them pass those assets on efficiently through comprehensive estate planning,” Erin Bury, CEO at Willful, said.

“We know that over half of Canadian adults don’t have a will, and it’s the cornerstone of an effective estate plan, so this partnership means PEAK advisors now have the option to help clients access a solution to create a province-specific estate plan in less than an hour.”

Established in 2017, Willful offers Canadians an accessible, affordable, and simple way to create a legal will online, with legal documents drafted by lawyers to abide by all provincial laws.

The platform helps users name important roles in their will, such as executors, beneficiaries, and guardians, by guiding them through a series of questions about their personal situation. It then offers a selection of customized PDF documents that can be used in accordance with provincial regulations.

Willful, which is accessible in eight provinces, provides the only fully digital notarial will in Quebec and, thanks to a collaboration with Docusign, also provides digital will execution in BC. The platform also enables Canadians to create a list of assets for their executor and to record their wishes for a funeral and burial.

PEAK Financial Group has dedicated itself for 30 years to improving people's quality of life through more unbiased and independent monetary management. Estate planning is a frequent topic of conversation with clients for PEAK advisors, who provide financial advice to more than 150,000 investors across Canada.

“PEAK advisors pride themselves on providing unbiased financial advice to clients across Canada, and our goal is to empower them with the best solutions to make a real difference in their clients’ lives,” said Robert Frances, president and CEO of PEAK Financial Group.

“Always looking for new ways of providing independent advisors with as many tools as possible to guide investors towards financial health, impartially and independently, PEAK keeps innovating and furthering its digital acceleration program. The access to Willful online estate planning solutions will be a complementary tool to expand upon the estate planning element of financial services and to broaden advisor’s business building strategies.”
