RBC iShares bolsters ETF roster with thematic megatrends suite

RBC iShares has unveiled several new index-based ETFs to give Canadian investors access to structural, world-shaping trends.

The new suite of megatrend ETFs, which are managed by BlackRock Canada, are now trading on the TSX.

“These new ETFs give investors additional tools to diversify their portfolios, enabling easy access to megatrends which we believe are powerful, transformative forces that can change the trajectory of the global economy by shifting the priorities of societies, driving innovation and redefining business models,” said Steven Leong, Head of iShares Product, BlackRock Canada.

The RBC iShares Megatrends ETFs provide Canadian investors with exposure to the long-term, transformational forces that shape the global economy and society. These opportunities are meant to catch transformational innovations that have yet to achieve their full potential.

The iShares Exponential Technologies Index ETF (XEXP) offers exposure in shares of companies that develop or use exponential technologies, as determined by the index provider, advancing the technology industry and beyond. XEXP has an annual management fee of 0.39%.

The iShares Global Clean Energy Index ETF (XCLN) invests in securities of issuers participating in the clean energy sector or that create clean power, as determined by the index provider. XCLN has an annual management fee of 0.35%.

The iShares Genomics Immunology and Healthcare Index ETF (XDNA) invests in issuers that the index provider believes will benefit from long-term development and innovation in genomics, immunology, and bioengineering. XDNA has an annual management fee of 0.39%.

Finally, the iShares Cybersecurity and Tech Index ETF (XHAK) gives investors exposure to issuers involved in cyber security and technology, as determined by the index provider. XHAK has an annual management fee of 0.39%.
