BMO unveils new real asset funds

BMO Investments, the manager of the BMO Mutual Funds, has announced the launch of two new funds for investors seeking exposure to companies focused on listed real assets.

The two new funds, managed by Brookfield Public Securities, will concentrate on areas such as global tech-focused real estate, renewables, and sustainable infrastructure.

The BMO Brookfield Global Real Estate Tech Fund generally invests in worldwide technology-focused real estate companies, such as data centers, communications infrastructure, and industrials, with the goal of providing long-term growth through capital appreciation and income.

Meanwhile, the BMO Brookfield Global Renewables Infrastructure Fund targets long-term growth and income by investing primarily in global renewables and sustainable infrastructure firms, with a focus on the wind and solar, clean electricity, clean technology, and water sustainability sectors.

"We are excited to offer two new mandates both as mutual fund and ETF series with Brookfield Public Securities Group LLC, a firm with recognized expertise in alternatives,” said Kevin Gopaul, President of ETFs at BMO Global Asset Management. “Global renewables, sustainable infrastructure and real estate tech are specialized exposures that capture two significant trends in the market and can help investors build better portfolios."

Both funds are available as mutual funds with Series A, F, F (Hedged), I, Advisor Series, and Advisor Series (Hedged) units. They’re also available as ETFs on the TSX, with the ticker symbol TOWR for the MO Brookfield Global Real Estate Tech Fund and GRNI for the BMO Brookfield Global Renewables Infrastructure Fund.

"We are very pleased to be able to collaborate with BMO Global Asset Management and combine Brookfield's listed real assets expertise with BMO's commitment to deliver client-first, innovative solutions," David Levi, CEO at Brookfield Public Securities Group, said.

TOWR and GRNI join BMO ETFs' 11 ETF filings from earlier this year, which included a climate-focused ETF, continuing income innovation, and a broader asset allocation ETF suite.
