Middlefield was founded in 1979 by Murray J. Brasseur as an integrated real estate management company. The firm grew quickly from there; highlights include launching its office in London in 1991, then debuting on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.

About Middlefield President and CEO Dean Orrico

Dean Orrico joined Middlefield in 1996; he has now been with the company for 27 years.

Orrico is responsible for the management and expansion of the business in Canada and overseas. It was under his leadership that Middlefield launched its first international fund listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.

Orrico graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He earned an MBA degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is a frequent speaker at investment seminars and a guest host on BNN Bloomberg. Orrico also recently hosted a roundtable discussion on REITs.
