Following the recent news that BMO Private Wealth has changed its previous six-region structure in Canada to four, the firm has announced some further leadership changes for North America.

In a LinkedIn post, group head of BMO Wealth Management, Deland Kamanga noted the progress the firm has made in strengthening its franchise across North America and how its “focus for the future is centered on our bold strategy to create an operating model for our top tier Private Wealth business.”

He announced that Kevin Barnes has been appointed to the new role of head of Private Wealth, North America. He has been head of wealth advice for the past eight months having joined the firm from TD where he was head of the Greater Toronto region.

Meghan Meger has been appointed head of Private Wealth Canada having been co-head for the past 18 months and previously regional president for the Prairies.

Meanwhile, Shannon Kennedy becomes head of U.S. Private Wealth. She has been CEO of BMO Wealth Management U.S. since earlier this year and was previously global president of the firm’s Family Office unit.

In his post, Kamanga also said: “I would like to thank Geoff Newton for his leadership in his role as co-head of Private Wealth and contributions to the business during his tenure at BMO. We wish Geoff all the success in his future endeavors.”
