PIMCO Canada launches new US-dollar series ETF

PIMCO Canada has launched the US-dollar ETF series of the PIMCO Monthly Income Fund. It’s currently trading on the TSX under the ticker symbol PMIF.U.

“An ETF series provides our Canadian investors with an additional access point to the established PIMCO Monthly Income Fund (Canada),” said Stuart Graham, managing director and head of PIMCO Canada.  “We can give clients the ability to choose the series that best suits their investment objectives.”

The firm has launched the ETF (US$) series to build on the success of the Canadian dollar ETF Series PMIF, which was launched last year and can be bought only in Canadian dollars.

The PIMCO Monthly Income Fund (Canada) is an actively managed bond portfolio that invests primarily in non-Canadian dollar fixed-income instruments of varying maturities. It is managed by Dan Ivascyn, managing director and group chief investment officer; Alfred Murata, managing director and portfolio manager; and Joshua Anderson, managing director and portfolio manager.
