Wealth Professional Top 50 Advisors deadline approaching

Those hoping to make it onto Wealth Professional’s Top 50 Advisors selection have just over a week to make their submissions. Each January, our publication highlights the best performers in wealth management, and 2018 will be no different.

Last year it was William Vastis of RBC Dominion Securities that stood ahead of the rest, but all those selected in the Top 50 poll showed fantastic performance with their respective practices. Aiming to return to the poll this year is Alexandra Horwood of Richardson GMP. Her presence in the Top 50 last year is something she is very proud of and has proven a useful marketing tool for her advisory firm, Alexandra Horwood & Partners.

“In 2017, I was ranked #13 of the Top 50 Advisors by Wealth Professional,” she says. “My friends and clients noticed that I was also the top ranked woman on the list. This became part of my marketing and branding moving forward, and it has had a huge impact.”

She adds: “Meeting with the top ranked female investment advisor in Canada is memorable,” she adds. “My clients now introduce me to their friends and colleagues as such, I am making a big first impression and it is easy for clients and friends to remember this description.”

Her business caters to the high-net-worth segment – clients that tend to have high expectations for their advisor. In growing her assets under management by 26% in 2016, she ranked 13th in our Top 50 selection. It’s been another strong year for her business, and Horwood is hoping to rank highly this year again.

“My business has continued to grow at a fast rate by attracting really special high-net-worth clients and families who are interested in holistic wealth management, estate planning, and strategies to lower their tax bill,” she says. “I am grateful to Wealth Professional for the honour and I hope to be considered on the Top 50 Advisors list for 2018!”
