Wealth Professional reveals its 2026 award winners

On June 4 at Liberty Grand in Toronto, Wealth Professional Awards revealed the top performers across 24 categories spanning advisory excellence, product innovation, leadership, and community impact — capping a multi-month process that drew nominations from across the country.

How winners were chosen

The process ran across five stages, opening with nominations that closed February 13, followed by a research phase drawing on Wealth Professional's own knowledge to supplement submissions.

Excellence Awardees were selected in March, independently judged by a panel of industry leaders in April, and winners were revealed live at the June 4 gala

Each submission was scored against category criteria, with a minimum of three judges per category; any judge with a conflict of interest recused themselves.

Voices from the night

The room reflected the weight of the night. Cameron Smith of Nicola Wealth, whose firm took home the Dealer of the Year award, called the recognition a collective achievement. "It's just an honour to be here tonight," Smith said. "Feels wonderful for our larger team of hundreds of professionals to be recognised."

The sentiment extended across the floor. German Pulido of ScotiaMcLeod described the evening as validation for years of consistent effort. "It's great to be recognised for the hard work you've been putting in all throughout, all these years," Pulido said. "It goes to show that if you put in the right work, and ethics, it pays off."

For first-timers, the scale of the event itself made an impression. Darren Morcom of The Morcom Wealth Management Group said the evening exceeded what he had anticipated. "I didn't know what to expect tonight. And the amount of people that are out here from the industry, the fun, the events — it has exceeded expectations," Morcom said.

Now in its 12th year, the WP Awards serve as a national benchmark for excellence in Canada's wealth management sector.
