Lauzon to drive Canadian advisor recruitment at Raymond James

Industry veteran Eric Lauzon has been hired by Raymond James Canada to drive national growth and recruit more advisors.

After 18 years with Assante Wealth Management as VP of business development, Lauzon will join the Canadian unit of the US-headquartered firm on September 2 as senior vice president, Growth and Development. He will also join the firm’s Wealth Management Operating Committee

Based in Montreal, Lauzon will lead a recruitment push aimed at sustaining the company’s strong growth trajectory, a move designed to position Raymond James as the leading independent platform for Canadian advisors looking to expand their businesses.

“Eric brings a rare combination of deep industry knowledge, proven sales leadership, and a powerful network of relationships,” said Scott Hudson, executive vice president, head of Wealth Management, Private Client Group at Raymond James Ltd. “His appointment reflects our commitment to building a high-performance recruitment infrastructure that attracts top talent and reinforces our position as a leading independent firm in Canada.”

As well as his two decades at Assante, Lauzon held senior roles at National Bank Securities and AIC Mutual Funds.

In his new role, he will work with branch managers and lead agents across the country to build relationships with external advisors and teams considering a transition. The effort is expected to play a central role in extending Raymond James’ national footprint and differentiating its platform from other players in the market.

“Eric’s approachable leadership style and strategic mindset are a perfect fit for our culture,” Hudson added. “We’re excited to welcome him to the team and confident in the impact he’ll have on our continued growth.”

Raymond James was recently ranked the sixth best investment firm in Canada based on client satisfaction scores, behind National Bank, Edward Jones, iA Private Wealth, CI Financial (Assante Wealth), and Desjardins.
