EY Canada comes to taxpayers’ digital rescue

With 2021 shaping up to be the most stressful tax season ever, EY Canada is helping to support its clients’ workforce and customers with the launch of a new online service.

EY TaxChat, a new tax preparation service, connects individuals with seasoned EY tax professionals in an easy-to-use online platform.

“COVID-19 has compounded financial stress for Canadians coast to coast,” said Albert Anelli, managing partner, Tax at EY Canada. “EY TaxChat offers a safe and easy way to navigate the increasingly complicated tax landscape – all from the comfort of home.”

The new service is available to EY Canada’s client organizations, who can either use the service to encourage financial wellness among their workforce and enhance their existing relationship with customers. Companies can integrate EY TaxChat into their existing suite of services, either as a company-paid or partially subsidized value-add offering.

Users can access the service through their mobile phone or desktop. After setting up a profile and answering questions about their tax situation, tax professionals from EY can handle the preparation and filing.

For its inaugural year, EY Canada is making the EY TaxChat service available as a benefit to its people. “Offering EY TaxChat to our people is one more way we're supporting personal wellness during this challenging time,” Anelli said.

“Today's workforce is more sophisticated, digitally-minded and flexible than ever before,” he added. “This tool is really about providing a tax preparation solution that drives the long-term value Canadians deserve.”
