Canadian wealthtech firm is nearing $1 trillion in assets on its platform as it expands its sales leadership to grow its advisor network across North America
Toronto-based wealthtech company d1g1t Inc. has appointed Alex Strekel as chief revenue officer, bringing more than two decades of financial services and fintech experience to the role as the firm presses ahead with ambitious growth targets across North America.
Strekel, who joins from Clearwater Analytics where he served as sales director for North American asset management, will oversee d1g1t's sales, channels, and sales engineering functions.
His mandate is to deepen the firm's reach among registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, multi-family offices, custodians, and bank-affiliated advisor networks, the core client base for d1g1t's enterprise wealth management platform.
"I'm excited to join d1g1t at a defining moment for wealth management, as AI reshapes how firms access information, prepare for client interactions, and support investment decisions," Strekel said.
A platform approaching $1 trillion
The appointment comes as d1g1t approaches a milestone: the company says it is on track to manage nearly $1 trillion in assets on its platform this year; a figure that signals significant momentum for a firm that raised $16 million in a fundraising round in recent years to fuel its technology build-out.
The platform consolidates portfolio management, reporting, compliance, and client engagement tools under a single institutional-grade performance and risk engine, an architecture the company says gives financial advisors real-time intelligence that has traditionally been available only to large institutional investors.
Dr. Dan Rosen, d1g1t's chief executive officer and co-founder, said the hire positions the firm to scale its client relationships at a critical juncture. "Alex will play a critical role in helping more firms see how d1g1t can arm advisors with real-time intelligence," Rosen said.
AI integration and advisor workflows
The company has been moving quickly on artificial intelligence. Earlier this year, d1g1t launched a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects its platform directly to AI tools, enabling financial advisors to query their client and portfolio data using natural language.
The development places d1g1t among a small group of wealthtech providers actively integrating AI-native functionality into day-to-day advisor workflows rather than offering it as an add-on.
That track record has drawn recognition from the industry. d1g1t has been named among Canada's five-star wealthtech providers for five consecutive years, reflecting consistent rankings from advisory firms across the country.
Strekel's background spans both asset management and financial data services. Before Clearwater Analytics, he held portfolio management roles at GenRe-New England Asset Management and earlier positions at Fidelity Investments and Thomson Financial; a combination of buy-side and data-services experience the company says aligns with the technical demands of selling an enterprise-grade platform to sophisticated wealth management firms.
The hire follows a series of senior appointments at d1g1t in recent years as the firm has expanded its leadership team to support growth in both Canada and the United States.
