BMO takes top spot for self-directed mobile apps

BMO Wealth Management has picked up the top ranking among self-directed investment apps for mobile devices.

The firm’s InvestorLine took pole position in the league table from Surviscor with a 76% score easily beating second-placed Questrade on 66%. Qtrade Investor takes third place with 61%.

The scorecard ranks discount brokerage apps based on hundreds of usage-related questions and the data shows an improving trend among the many apps now available.

"Mobile accessibility and services for discount brokerage clients has improved over the last two years with more core services being offered via mobile devices. The disappointing fact is that overall mobile offerings continue to lag traditional online experiences, not allowing clients to make a complete conversion" said Glenn LaCoste, President of Surviscor Inc.

He added that firms’ scores have shown improvement and further development is expected in the near future.

"We are thrilled to once again be recognized by Surviscor as the top ranked mobile brokerage in Canada," said Silvio Stroescu, President, BMO InvestorLine. "This recognition is a testament to our team's commitment to provide Canadians with an exceptional digital investing experience."
