8 arrive new and 11 gain wider series access across GIF Select, the segregated fund RESP, and MPIP pools, covering active and index-based mandates
Eight new segregated funds are joining Manulife Canada's lineup, along with expanded access to 11 existing funds across its guaranteed investment products.
According to Manulife's announcement, the additions span mutual fund and ETF solutions across both actively managed and index-based mandates, and keep the protection, estate planning, and wealth transfer features attached to segregated funds.
Advisors need solutions that reflect the range of client goals, said Paul Savage, head of individual insurance at Manulife Canada.
Savage said the expansion gives advisors "more choice and flexibility" while keeping the protection and legacy planning features that segregated funds carry.
Three of the new funds draw on Manulife Investment Management's existing mutual fund and ETF strategies, which the insurer attributed to strong advisor demand, covering US equity, international dividend, and short-term bond mandates inside an insured structure:
- Manulife U.S. Opportunities Segregated Fund
- Manulife Smart International Dividend ETF Segregated Fund
- Manulife Smart Short-Term Bond ETF Segregated Fund
Fidelity Investments Canada ULC supplies three more across Canadian, global, and balanced mandates:
- Manulife Fidelity Canadian Growth Company Segregated Fund
- Manulife Fidelity Global Equity+ Segregated Fund
- Manulife Fidelity Income Portfolio Segregated Fund
Two ETF-based funds complete the eight, Manulife said:
- Manulife BlackRock Core Equity ETF Segregated Fund, an all-in-one index equity solution targeting long-term capital growth through diversified exposure to Canadian, US, international, and emerging market equities
- Manulife Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF Segregated Fund, giving contract holders exposure to large US-listed companies through an insurance contract
Series availability widens on 11 existing funds, according to the announcement:

- Manulife Corporate Fixed Income Private Segregated Pool
- Manulife Balanced Income Portfolio Segregated Fund
- Manulife Global Dividend Segregated Fund
- Manulife Smart Balanced Dividend ETF Bundle Segregated Fund
- Manulife Smart Corporate Bond ETF Segregated Fund
- Manulife Smart Dividend ETF Segregated Fund
- Manulife Smart U.S. Dividend ETF Segregated Fund
- Manulife CI Canadian Income & Growth Segregated Fund
- Manulife Fidelity Canadian Asset Allocation Segregated Fund
- Manulife Fidelity Canadian Balanced Segregated Fund
Manulife said the new and expanded offerings will be available through GIF Select – InvestmentPlus (75/75 and 75/100 Series), the Manulife Segregated Fund RESP, and MPIP Segregated Pools (75/75 and 75/100 Series).
