Sun Life Group Benefits clients now have access to virtual care EAP

A new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) from Sun Life's Group Benefits is now being offered to its clients across Canada.

The new EAP platform offered by Lumino Health Virtual Care provides quick and private support to Sun Life's plan customers.

Leading Canadian virtual healthcare and wellness platform Dialogue powers Lumino Health Virtual Care. Sun Life group plan members can download the app and access a variety of services and experts in health and well-being in just a few minutes.

"Lumino Health Virtual Care EAP is an all-in-one solution to help Canadians get immediate access to support. We want to provide our members with the help they need, when they need it. Today's announcement means help is just a few clicks away," said Marie-Chantal Côté, Senior Vice-President, Group Benefits, Sun Life Canada. "Launching EAP through Lumino Health Virtual Care is another way of making the continuation of care easier and more accessible."

Workplace benefit plans provide access to EAP services. The service is always available and offers assistance in several areas, such as:

  • Services for stress and wellness, such as assistance with depression, anxiety, grief, and burnout;
  • Services for work and careers, such as those for professional advancement and work-life harmony;
  • Legal and financial services, including help with divorce and debt management; and
  • Parenting assistance, relationship counseling, and eldercare navigation, which are all part of the Family and Relationships services.

"EAP services are important to help people navigate life's difficult moments," said Cherif Habib, Chief Executive Officer, Dialogue. "When people are in need, they're looking to get support as quickly as possible. This virtual tool allows members to get a personalized assessment within minutes and an appointment with a mental health professional within 24 hours."

Members get access to online cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) as part of their EAP, which provides Several interactive self-care toolkits. They promote mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, according to clinical evidence.

Additionally, Lumino Health Virtual Care now offers a brand-new Stress Management and Well-Being program. This supplemental service makes use of Dialogue's committed care staff and resources.

The program provides access to psychologists, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals, among other extra mental health services for members. Members go through a quick online stress test via the app.

After an initial examination by a mental health expert, they are matched with a care plan that is unique to them. Members have access to unlimited sessions up till remission after being paired with the right practitioner based on their needs.
