Wealthsimple, Canada’s top online investment service, has unveiled a new pricing scheme to accommodate the needs of all investors. The new pricing structure distinguishes between two services: Wealthsimple Basic and Wealthsimple Black.

Wealthsimple Basic is the service’s offering for clients with under $100,000. According to the company, it provides “simple, smart, low-cost investing to help [investors] meet their financial goals.” Wealthsimple Basic’s features are:

  • 0.5% management fee
  • A personalized portfolio
  • On-demand financial advice from experienced portfolio managers
  • Automatic portfolio rebalancing and dividend reinvestment
  • The first $5,000 managed for free

On the other hand, Wealthsimple Black delivers premium services to clients with at least $100,000 invested. Aside from having all the features of Wealthsimple Basic, it has the following offerings:

  • 0.4% management fee
  • Priority Pass access to 1,000+ airline lounges globally for cardholder + one guest
  • Goal-based financial planning with an experienced portfolio manager
  • Tax-loss harvesting
  • Tax efficient funds

“At Wealthsimple, we're constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients, and as their savings grow we're growing with them,” said Wealthsimple founder and CEO Michael Katchen. “Our mission is to provide the best service and financial advice to all investors, no matter how far along they are toward reaching their financial goals.”

The new pricing structure was conceived as part of a complete website redesign that aims for a more straightforward, intuitive, and transparent investing experience.
