Wealth Professional names 2026 excellence awardees ahead of Liberty Grand gala
Wealth Professional has unveiled the 2026 excellence awardees for the Wealth Professional Awards, setting the stage for one of the industry’s biggest nights at Toronto’s Liberty Grand on June 4.
Now in its twelfth year, the awards continue to serve as a national benchmark for excellence in Canada’s wealth management sector.
This year’s program introduces Focal AI as the new diamond sponsor, underscoring the growing role of technology and data-driven tools across advice, portfolio construction, and practice management.
The firm also lends its name to The Focal AI Award for Advisory Team of the Year (10 Staff or More), recognizing high-performing, larger advisory teams that combine scale with strong client outcomes.
Alongside Focal AI, a roster of returning and new sponsors is backing this year’s categories that spotlight advisors, firms, and service providers across the country.
These sponsors support signature categories such as The Avenue Living Award for Portfolio/Discretionary Manager of the Year, The Centurion Asset Management Award for Advisor of the Year – Alternative Investments, The CMI Financial Group Award for Fund Manager Innovator of the Year, The Equiton Award for Canadian Advisor of the Year, The FP Canada Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Financial Planning Industry, and The Franklin Templeton Award for Dealer of the Year.
This year’s excellence awardees span the full spectrum of Canada’s wealth management ecosystem, from tax and estate planning specialists to leaders in financial literacy and wealthtech.
Categories range from Advisor of the Year – Tax & Estate Planning, Advisory Team of the Year (Under 10 Staff), and CEO of the Year to Employer of Choice, ETF Provider of the Year, and Real Estate Investment Provider of the Year.
They also include honours that speak to evolving client needs and industry priorities, such as Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Service, Financial Literacy Champion, Holistic Advisory Team of the Year, Most Innovative Use of WealthTech, and WealthTech Service Provider of the Year.
On the individual side, categories like Rising Star Advisor of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and The Pier 4 Award for the Female Trailblazer of the Year highlight emerging talent and trailblazing leadership. Meanwhile, The FP Canada Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Financial Planning Industry will again honour a career of outstanding contribution, with the recipient to be revealed live at the gala.
Team- and firm-based awards, including The Focal AI Award for Advisory Team of the Year (10 Staff or More), The Equiton Award for Canadian Advisor of the Year, The Franklin Templeton Award for Dealer of the Year, and Employer of Choice, showcase organizations that are raising the bar on culture, innovation, and client impact.
