Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman acquires Burlington, Ontario’s Danyliw & Mann and BDM Royalty Management
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman (GRF), one of the largest business management and family office firms in the United States, has completed its first acquisition in Canada.
Burlington, Ontario-based Danyliw & Mann, Inc. and its affiliated royalty management company has become part of GRF as part of its global expansion strategy.
The deal sees Danyliw & Mann, Inc., Danyliw & Mann Professional Corporation, and BDM Royalty Management Ltd. absorbed into GRF, which was founded in 1967 and now operates out of nine offices across North America and the United Kingdom.
GRF is a partner firm of Focus Financial Partners, a U.S.-based wealth management platform that reported more than $500 billion in advised assets as of January 1, 2026, according to the company.
A natural fit for entertainment-industry clients
Danyliw & Mann has served high-net-worth clients in the entertainment industry since its founding in 2004 by Kenna Danyliw and Geoff Mann.
The firm specialises in family office services, business management, tax compliance, and non-resident tax work, with a particular focus on the music and entertainment sector.
BDM Royalty Management Ltd., founded in 2021 by the Danyliw & Mann co-founders alongside Jason Belo, rounds out the offering with royalty management, label administration, and rights management services.
Kenna Danyliw, chief executive of Danyliw & Mann, said the partnership with GRF opens a new chapter for both her team and their clients.
"GRF brings added resources, scale, and infrastructure that lets us refocus time from running and managing the business, to creating value and providing excellent service for our clients," she said.
GRF deepens North American footprint
For GRF, the Canadian acquisition represents a logical extension of its existing client relationships.
Tyson Beem, chief executive of GRF, said the two firms had already collaborated on mutual clients for several years before formalising a partnership. "GRF and Danyliw & Mann have built respect and admiration for one another from several years of working together on mutual clients," Beem said.
GRF currently employs more than 700 staff across approximately 40 managing directors, with existing offices in Los Angeles, Encino, San Rafael, Wilmington, Needham, New York, White Plains, Nashville, and London.
Travis Danysh, chief strategy officer at Focus Financial Partners, said the acquisition reinforces the network's positioning in the global business management space.
"The addition of Danyliw & Mann and BDM brings two teams that share our client-first mindset and further expands GRF's presence as a global leader in the business management and family office industry," Danysh said. No financial terms for the transaction were disclosed.
Cross-border wealth management consolidation continues
The deal is the latest in a wave of consolidation reshaping the North American wealth management landscape, as large U.S.-based aggregators continue to look northward for growth opportunities.
The Danyliw & Mann team will continue to operate from Burlington and maintain its existing client relationships, with the benefit of GRF's broader international infrastructure and resources.
The addition of BDM Royalty Management also underscores growing institutional recognition of rights management and royalty income as a distinct wealth management discipline, one that has grown considerably in importance as streaming economics have restructured how musicians and rights holders generate income.
