How things can change in a year. The much hailed launch of Target stores in Canada last year has not been the success it was hoped to be; a flop many would say. Now real estate company CBRE have published a new report that says retailers are being put off from expanding into Canada. The report is not all bad news. It shows that while new investment in stores from foreign retailers may not be big news, over a third of global retailers do have a presence in Canada, and domestic retailers have adapted to deal with the competition.
