Search continues for contenders ahead of the 2022 Wealth Professional Awards

The search is on for this year’s crop of winners in the Wealth Professional Awards, the prestigious annual event honouring the best and brightest among the investment and wealth industry.

After two years of being held virtually, the awards will be held in-person once again this year. Wealth professionals from across the country will come together in a black-tie gala to be held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto on June 1, 2022.

The window for online nominations is now open, and will close on February 18. Nominate a deserving firm or individual today for free by clicking here.

With 12 individual awards and 11 organizational awards up for grabs, the event is a comprehensive showcase of all the worthy individuals, teams, and firms that have exhibited outstanding levels of professionalism, client service, and commitment to advancing the industry.

One individual accolade, The Nour Private Wealth Award for Rising Star Advisor of the Year, puts the spotlight on an up-and-coming talent who, in their short time within the industry, has epitomized excellence by displaying proficiency, passion, and commitment to client care.

The Harvest Portfolios Group Award for Female Trailblazer of the Year, meanwhile, will go to one deserving female advisor who has gone above and beyond, both in a personal and professional capacity, in championing women within the wealth management and financial planning space.

The ETF Innovator of the Year Award, which is not limited to advisors, will go to the wealth professional who have demonstrated a passion for advancing the use and highlighting the value of ETFs to their clients and industry.

And in recognition of the evolution that’s happened in the Canadian investing landscape, this year’s organizational awards include three crucial categories: Mutual Fund Provider of the Year, ETF Provider of the Year, and the newly introduced Alternative Investment Solutions Provider of the Year.

Another organizational award, The Mako Financial Technologies Award for Most Innovative Use of WealthTech, will be a testament to one advisory team, firm, office, or network that has demonstrated exceptional use of technology to improve their business, support their advisors, and elevate the client experience.

One technology firm with a proven track record of providing superior services and solutions to help financial planning and wealth firms better serve their clients will also be rewarded with the coveted WealthTech Service Provider of the Year award.

Last year's winner of the Lifetime Achievement in the Financial Planning Industry award Jos Schmitt, co-founder, president and CEO of the NEO Group, told WP he felt “honoured, proud, humble and excited” at receiving the award and that, far from signalling he is at the end of his journey with NEO, there was much more to come.

“The one thing that probably I did in my career is bring together great people who have a passion for the industry and a desire to make the industry better,” he said. “That is probably the key element that I believe drove this result. I would like to dedicate this award to the teams I worked with and also all the industry stakeholders who believed in me and the people I was working with.”
