Pender deepens bench of investment expertise

Penderfund Capital Management has welcomed Patricia Perez-Coutts, CFA, has welcomed Patricia Perez-Coutts, CFA, as the newest portfolio manager on its investment team.

Perez-Coutts has a distinguished and extensive expertise in emerging markets equities management, with more than 30 years of experience. She became a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Westwood Holdings Group in 2012, where she oversaw a team of analysts responsible for managing emerging markets equity strategies. Before that, she spent almost ten years with AGF Investment Management, where she also managed emerging market equity strategies.

Throughout her career, she has received numerous industry honors, including six straight Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards as Senior Vice-President and Portfolio Manager of the AGF Emerging Markets Fund.

Pender also welcomes Aman Budhwar, CFA, as a member of the company's emerging markets investing team, as well as Phil Stafford as a Senior Trader.

Budhwar has over 25 years of experience in equity research, analysis, and stock selection in global and emerging markets. He worked at AIC Limited, OMERS Capital Markets, AGF Investment Management, Westwood International Advisors, and Winnermax Capital before joining Pender.

Phil has considerable knowledge and experience directing stock trading and customer relations/service teams, having worked in the equity, fixed income, and derivative markets for over 40 years. He joins Pender after seven years with Westwood International Advisors as SVP Global Equity Trader.

Prior to that, he spent eight years as Managing Director – Vice President of Trading at AGF Investment Management and eight years as Managing Director – Head of Equity Trading at TD Asset Management. Previously, he worked on the sell side at Gordon Capital Corporation and CIBC Wood Gundy.
