Oil bounces back yet again, TSX ends on triple-figure high

Could this week end as it began? The Toronto Stock Exchange started the week with highs, fell yesterday, but has rebounded again today.

Could this week end as it began? The Toronto Stock Exchange started the week with highs, fell yesterday, but has rebounded again today. Once again it is oil that is dictating the fate of the markets and with Brent crude creeping back up to near $56 a barrel at one point today the energy sector’s stocks have rebounded.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index closed up 129.27 (0.86 per cent)

The NYSE closed higher

Oil is trending higher ($50.85 at 4.45pm)

Gold is trending higher

The loonie is worth 80 cents US (at 4.45pm)
