Nominations ongoing for the 2024 Wealth Professional Awards

2024 will be a year for the books at Wealth Professional as it ramps up for a landmark anniversary.

The Wealth Professional Awards, which has set the standard for recognizing leaders, achievers, and top firms in the Canadian wealth industry, is celebrating its 10th year this June.

Happening at the iconic Liberty Grand Hotel in Toronto, the 2024 WP Awards promises to be an affair to remember as it recognizes the individuals, teams, firms, and service providers that are propelling the industry onward and upward to the future.

There are 23 awards up for grabs this year, with individual and organizational awards spanning the world of investment, financial planning, wealth technology, and philanthropy – a reflection of the rich diversity of Canada’s wealth space.

Croesus, a leading wealthtech provider whose history stretches back to 1997, edged out nine other worthy firms to win the WP Readers’ Choice Award for Service Provider of the Year in 2020.

“We were very proud. We knew that the competition for this award was fierce, and that coming out on top meant a lot,” said Frederic Le Bouar, director, Product Marketing and Business Promotion at Croesus. “The wealth management technology sector is complex, competitive and characterized by customers with very high standards.”

Over the years, Le Bouar said, WP has built a reputation for the quality and content of its information. WP’s annual awards, he said, can be considered the “Academy Awards” of the Canadian wealth industry, showcasing innovators, achievers, and champions among wealth technology providers as well as wealth management companies.

“We made sure that our employees were informed of the good news, as were our partners and key customers,” he said. “We don't often brag, but this time we made an exception.”

Also in 2020, Dynamic Funds triumphed in its category to bag the Fund Provider of the Year Award.

“We were exceptionally proud to be recognized as Fund Provider of the year in 2020, a particularly challenging year, among a group of categories that also recognized advisors, and the quality of advice they provide to their clients,” said Mark Brisley, managing director at Dynamic Funds.

“At Dynamic, financial advisors are our lifeblood and so were very thankful to be recognized for our contributions to stand firmly behind them in their efforts with Canadian investors,” Brisley said.

While the wealth industry can be highly competitive, Le Bouar said the professionals making up the community recognize they have the same goal of improving returns and wealth for investors and clients.

“Our industry is small in terms of the number of professionals, and we all know there's a good chance we'll work with many companies over the course of our careers, be they competitors, customers or suppliers,” he said. “It's always worth taking a day, burying the hatchet and taking the time to recognize each other. After all, we're all in this together.”

“A rising tide lifts all boats,” Brisley said. “We appreciate that Wealth Professional is committed to recognizing industry excellence in delivering investment advice and helping clients meet their long-term financial goals.”
