Just four weeks left to nominate for 2020 WP Awards

The clock is ticking to get your nominations in for the 2020 WP Awards night, a celebration of the Canadian wealth management’s best in class.

Nominations are open for just four more weeks, closing on February 25, for the sixth annual event, which will be held on Thursday, May 28 at the Liberty Grand, Toronto.

The ceremony will be hosted by James Duthie, the host of TSN’s NHL coverage, including the award-winning NHL on TSN.

Among the 24 award categories are the following:

  • BDM/Wholesaler of the Year;
  • CEO of the Year;
  • Employer of Choice;
  • ETF Champion of the Year;
  • The Equisoft Award for Fund Provider of the Year;
  • The WP Readers' Choice Award for Service Provider of the Year;
  • The WP Readers' Choice Award for Advertising Campaign of the Year.

MacKenzie Investments won last year’s Equisoft Award for Fund Provider of the Year and CEO Barry McInerney was a delighted winner. He said: “I was just ecstatic for my team. We are a proud 50-plus year Canadian firm and we’re just here every day trying to work hard for Canadians, trying to give them relevant investment products that can help with their retirement security.”

Karen Adams, CEO of Fundserv, won 2019's CEO of the Year award and said it was a significant victory for women in the industry. She said: "It means so much. Women leaders don't often get the chance to be honoured and be in the top spot. It means a lot for me and all of the women at the organization."

She added: "I think the keys to my success have been hiring great people and getting out of their way."
