Joe Oliver sought to smooth over the fury at BoC governor Stephen Poloz’s comments on youth unemployment today. The finance minister said that the bank chief was probably referring to young people gaining experience to enable them to be better equipped for paid work. Mr Oliver said that “What we are obviously looking for are more paying jobs for youth.”
