General Motors’ Chinese unit has released sales data showing a drop of 4 per cent over the last 12 months but profit is holding up well. The July drop compares with a 0.2 per cent increase in June and a 4 per cent decline in May. It sold 229,175 cars in the year and says it remains on track to hit profit margin goals. Overall profits should come in higher as the firm continues to control costs along with holding margins.
