FP Canada introduces new certification for aspiring financial planners

New end-to-end training will provide technical and professional education for QAFP and CFP professionals

FP Canada introduces new certification for aspiring financial planners

For Qualified Associate Financial Planner and Certified Financial Planner professionals, FP Canada and the FP Canada Institute are introducing a new end-to-end education program. The program offers unrivalled professional and technical education as well as a redesigned QAFP certification with a new and simplified path to certification. The most direct path to successful financial planning is created by doing this.

The FP Canada Institute has introduced a brand-new, in-house technical education program with simplified, clear, and current course material written by professional planners for other professional planners. In addition to current professional education options, this enables prospective financial planners to get industry-leading education through the FP Canada Institute on their path to licensure.

With the help of a single accredited source and the only program of its type in Canada, the FP Canada Institute's end-to-end education will help aspiring financial planners succeed sooner.

Tashia Batstone, President and Chief Executive Officer of FP Canada, stated that as the primary organization driving the development of professional financial planning in Canada, "we are committed to ensuring that all Canadians have access to trusted, professional, and qualified advice."

"Central to this mission is ensuring that all QAFP professionals and CFP professionals are equipped with the best possible technical and professional skills. We are thrilled to announce this new chapter for our organization to support financial planners and the Canadians they serve," Batstone said.

FP Canada has reimagined the QAFP certification to better support aspiring financial planning professionals on their pathway to certification. In order to further assist aspiring financial planning professionals on their certification road, FP Canada has redesigned the QAFP certification.

The certification process is more accessible, comprehensive, and tailored to the unique educational requirements of working QAFP professionals. It gives certified financial planners the professional knowledge and technological know-how necessary to offer clients holistic financial planning assistance.

With an emphasis on discovery, plan preparation, and presentation, the FP Canada Institute QAFP Professional Education Program has been revamped. The final in-course evaluation will include a live, interactive client discovery component.

To guarantee they have mastered the necessary professional and relationship-building abilities, QAFP certification applicants must finish the program before receiving their certification. This is a crucial distinction between the qualifications offered by FP Canada and other credentials for financial planning.

The technical education prerequisites for the QAFP certification have been improved to better meet Canadians' demands in financial planning. Candidates taking the QAFP test starting in May/June 2024 will be able to use the new path to certification, creating a more effective path to certification.

Candidates for certification will acquire the knowledge and abilities required to guide their customers toward financial wellness.

"We believe this re-imagined QAFP certification will help improve outcomes for the next generation of Canadian wealth builders," Batstone added.
