Financial giant appoints new MD in Canada

Company with more than 220 locations across the country appoints new figurehead

There is a new managing director of corporate banking for Citigroup in Canada.

The company, which has more than 2,740 employees and 220 locations across the country, has appointed Daljeet Lamba, formerly of Bank of America, to the position.

In a company statement, Citigroup announced that Lamba will be leading client development and business strategies in the country. He is not new to the firm either – having worked at Citigroup in Canada just before joining Bank of America back in 2009.

According to a Bloomberg report, John Hastings, chief executive officer for the company’s operations in Canada, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Lamba back to Citi. His connectivity and expertise will ensure we continue to enhance our abilities to bring first-class products and service to our institutional clients.”

At the Bank of America, Lamba held the position of managing director of corporate and investment banking for the company’s Merrill Lynch unit in Canada.
