Broadridge Canada names new head of technology and operations

Broadridge Financial Solutions has appointed Richard Anton as general manager and head of global technology and operations for Canada, a role covering the firm's wealth, capital markets and asset management businesses in the country.

Anton arrives from CIBC Mellon, where he most recently served as chief commercial officer and head of capital markets and, before that, as chief operations officer.

His work in those positions covered enterprise transformation, technology modernization and global operating-model redesign.

He has more than 30 years of experience in financial services spanning commercial strategy, operations, technology and transformation.

Broadridge, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BR, said Anton will work with its Canadian leadership team on the company's wealth strategy and on its positioning as a transformation partner to financial institutions.

The mandate includes deepening client engagement and accelerating growth across the three business lines.

Karin Kirkwood, president of Broadridge Canada, said in the company's announcement that Richard's industry experience and record leading client-focused transformation position him to lead its Canadian GTO organization.

Kirkwood said his leadership will help the company deliver the technology and solutions its clients need.

Anton said in the same announcement that he is joining Broadridge as the Canadian financial-services industry grows.

He said Broadridge helps clients transform their businesses through technology, data and expertise.

Anton succeeds Chad Alderson, who spent three years as general manager of GTO Canada.

Alderson becomes premium account leader within Broadridge's global sales and marketing organization, where he will lead strategic client relationships and executive engagement in the Canadian market.
