Advocis confirms 2025 board appointments and name new chair

Advocis, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, has named Curtis Kimpton as chair of the TFAAC Board of Directors for 2025.  

Kimpton is a senior wealth advisor at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth in Saskatoon and has worked in the financial services sector for more than 28 years.  

He has been a member of Advocis since 2014. 

“I am honoured to assume the role of chair and to help lead Advocis through this critical period,” said Kimpton. He said her focus will be on working with the TFAAC Board, senior leadership, and members to address their needs and maintain Advocis’ role within the financial services community. 

Kimpton has served in several leadership roles and previously held positions including National President of Kin Canada and Honorary Colonel in the Canadian Armed ForcesTFAAC Board Release. 

The board will include four new members: 

  • Tannis Dawson, TD Wealth 

  • Kelly Ho, DLD Financial Group Ltd. 

  • Chris Hudson, B & C Financial and Estate Planning Services Ltd. 

  • Tina Tehranchian, Assante Capital Management Ltd. 

“[They] each bring knowledge and leadership experience to the Board,” said Kimpton. “Their deep expertise in financial oversight, strategic agility, and member engagement will be instrumental in advancing our efforts to better serve financial professionals across Canada.” 

“[Kimpton] is a strategic and thoughtful leader who understands the importance of member-driven advocacy,” said Advocis CEO Kelly Gorman. She added that his leadership experience will be important as the board works to address the association’s current challenges and priorities. 

Kimpton takes over from Al Jones, who has completed his term.  

“[His] leadership was a steady and guiding force for Advocis during a period of challenge and change,” said Gorman. “We are grateful for his contributions and are excited to have him continue his involvement as past chair.” 

Returning members to the TFAAC Board include Arun Channan, Sara La Gamba, and Ejaz NadeemTFAAC Board Release.
