5-star advisory teams 2025 revealed

Wealth Professional’s 5-Star Advisory Teams 2025 list was revealed in a national feature celebrating Canada’s top-performing multi-advisor wealth teams.

Selected from investor nominations and evaluated on client service, impact, and strategic execution, the honourees stood out for adapting to client expectations and elevating team-driven advisory models.

Among this year’s recognised firms were Stenner Wealth Partners+ of CG Wealth Management, Diligence Wealth Management of Manulife Securities, and Blue Oceans Private Wealth of iA Private Wealth.

Operating out of Vancouver and Toronto, Stenner Wealth Partners+ (SWP+) is known for its deliberate exclusivity, onboarding just six to eight new clients per year.

The team serves ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and foundations with a minimum of $25m in net worth or $10m in investable assets.

Senior portfolio manager Thane Stenner said the strength of the team lies in its internal cohesion. “In this industry, you’re only going to fly as high as the quality of the people on your team,” he said.

Our team is composed of well-trained and good communicators, which all enhances the client experience.”

SWP+ maintains constant client engagement, reaching out up to 25-60 times annually through meetings, newsletters, and analysis. “When things get really volatile, we crank up the communication level more,” added Stenner.

Diligence Wealth Management, under Manulife Wealth, was another 5-Star recipient.

Senior investment advisor Georges Achkar highlighted his team’s disciplined approach, stating, “We are a very hardworking group, so we like to say that we operate on a much higher level than our competitors.”

Achkar’s process includes technical analysis through their investment committee, and the team focuses on being value-oriented.

“We’re kind of contrarian, value-oriented investors. We like to try to buy things as cheap as possible, and that’s reflected in our portfolio.”

He also underscored the impact of positive culture, adding, “Negative energy—as much as positive energy—is contagious. We don’t tell anybody to stay late; we don’t tell anybody to do extra. But everybody does."

Blue Oceans Private Wealth, part of iA Private Wealth, was recognised for its direct and transparent communication strategy.

Senior wealth advisor David Little begins every new relationship with a service agreement outlining mutual expectations. “I actually give our new clients a service contract I sign that says, ‘This is what you can expect from us and in return, this is what we expect from you’,” said Little.

He noted the importance of humility in service delivery, saying, “I’ve made sure that my staff is constantly aware that there’s nothing our clients can ask us to do that’s too much. That’s what we’re in business for.”

The 5-Star Advisory Teams list, published annually, recognises firms that exceed basic portfolio management by offering full-service, team-based client solutions.

Wealth Professional’s 2025 cohort revealed patterns in communication strength, advanced planning, internal cohesion, and values alignment across the top performers.
