CI unveils ESG ETF portfolios

CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM) has bolstered its suite of ETF portfolio offerings with new diversified options for ESG-minded investors.

Combining an ESG focus with the convenience of diversification that matches a range of investor goals, the new CI Mosaic ESG ETF Portfolios are managed by CI GAM’s Multi-Asset Management team, which oversees roughly $47 billion in AUM.

“There is a groundswell of interest in ESG investing, but a myriad of choices, with over 570 ESG-based ETFs alone in North America,” said CI GAM Executive Vice President and head of Distribution for CI GAM. “We are making it easy for investors with our sophisticated one-stop ESG solutions.”

With management fees ranging from 0.45% to 0.50% for Series F, the new ESG portfolios include the CI Mosaic ESG Balanced Income ETF portfolio, which targets a 60% fixed income and 40% equity asset allocation; CI Mosaic ESG Balanced ETF portfolio, which aims for 40% fixed income, 60% equity; and CI Mosaic ESG Balanced Growth ETF portfolio, which pursues a 20-80 allocation between fixed income and equity.

Each portfolio is actively managed with a core of diversified ETFs that hold companies with high ESG ratings relative to peers; and satellite exposures consisting of concentrated mandates focused on specific ESG themes and opportunities.

“Investors benefit from our Multi-Asset Management team’s expertise in navigating the world of ESG investments and their proficiency in asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management,” Ratnavel said. “We continue to enhance our product lineup by launching timely and relevant investment solutions to help investors achieve their financial goals.”

Aside from complementing the pre-existing lineup of five CI Mosaic ETF Portfolios launched in January 2019, the new ESG portfolios build on CI GAM’s lineup of ESG solutions.

A signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investing (UNPRI), CI GAM incorporates ESG factors into all its investment mandates as well as its proxy voting and shareholder engagement activities.

CI GAM has also launched U.S. dollar-hedged units for its CI Emerging Markets Fund, CI Emerging Markets Corporate Class and CI Global Alpha Innovators Corporate Class, with each fund now including Series AH, FH, IH and PH units.
