Iconic private collection goes on sale in Toronto

Miles Nadal, a global financier and real estate investor, is set to auction off his impressive ‘Dare to Dream’ collection, a meticulously curated assortment valued at over $60m, including rare automobiles and sneakers.

This extraordinary sale, hosted by RM Sotheby’s, will occur from May 30 to June 1 in Toronto, Canada. It will feature both live and online bidding opportunities, offering collectors a chance to own a piece of history from one of the world’s most prestigious private collections.

The ‘Dare to Dream’ collection, also known as the D2D Collection, represents Nadal’s passion for assembling iconic pieces.

These range from some of the most sought-after automobiles by leading brands like Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Ford to a comprehensive sneaker collection featuring 100 of the rarest sneakers available.

The auction is strategically scheduled ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, providing a perfect gathering for car and racing enthusiasts.

Among the automotive highlights are the “Big 5,” a collection of the most coveted modern Ferraris, including models like the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari, each representing a pinnacle of automotive engineering and design.

Additionally, a 2015 McLaren P1 in Gulf livery, a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, and a 1972 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV, previously owned by Jay Kay of Jamiroquai, are set to draw significant attention.

The sneaker collection is just as impressive, featuring over 800 pairs of rare sneakers from brands like Nike, Adidas, and Air Jordan.

Highlights include an original pair of 1985 ‘Player Sample’ Air Jordans, a 1972 Nike Waffle Racing “Moon Shoe,” and limited editions like the 2011 and 2016 “Back to the Future” Nike Mags and Adidas Human Race NMD Pharrell x Chanel “Karl Lagerfeld.”

A portion of the sneakers highlights the genesis of Nike’s heritage, marking significant moments in the brand’s history.

Nadal’s dedication to philanthropy is evident. He plans to donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the sneaker sales to The Dare to Dream Foundation, which aims to empower youth through entrepreneurship.

This auction represents an opportunity for collectors to acquire unique and highly sought-after items. It supports a cause that fosters the next generation of dreamers and doers.

Gord Duff of RM Sotheby’s and Brahm Wachter of Sotheby’s have both expressed their admiration for the collection’s quality and the significance of this auction.
