Deadline extended until November 8 for WPC's annual showcase

For the seventh consecutive year, Wealth Professional Canada is ranking the top advisors in the country.

After receiving an overwhelming response, WP has decided to extend the deadline to accommodate for more applications. Applications for the list will now close on November 8, 2019.

Gracing the list is not only a recognition of the work done by an advisor but also validation of their process. The list takes into account overall AUM, AUM growth and number of clients served between Oct. 31, 2018 and Oct. 31, 2019.

Last year, Kyle Richie, Richie Group Private Wealth Management, Investors Group, earned the top spot. Having previously won awards within his firm, the external award was a new experience for Richie. “Being Wealth Professional’s top advisor really made my day. We have won within IG but to be recognized outside the firm made me proud and was humbling!”

In 2018, Chad Larson, MLD Wealth Management, Canaccord Genuity, was named the top advisor. Larson notes how his appearance on the list positively impacted his business. “I think having any kind of recognition in our field is compelling, warranted and uplifting to what we set out to do every day. Making the list, at any ranking, any number, is an honour in itself. The visibility that I, and my team, received translated into phenomenal client retention, asset gathering, revenue generation and a calming of investors.”

Other advisors who have been featured on the list have also seen positive impacts from the recognition. “Being featured was very cool! The top 50 is great recognition, it adds credibility we can use in front of new clients. The external validation is valuable when we are meeting current and also prospective clients,” said Steve Booker, Milestone Asset Management, Canaccord Genuity.

“The recognition showed us that we are on the right path and that we are providing value to our clients,” said Ed Simpson, Zagari Simpsons Wealth Management, Mandeville Private Client. “To grow our business at the rate we have, attracting other advisors, shows the appetite for our structure and that it is a service the public wants.”

Advisors are encouraged to apply here and fill out a nomination form to see if they are one of the Top 50 Advisors of 2019. If the experiences of past listees are any indication, earning the recognition can be quite the boost for any business. Results will be published in the January 2020 issue of Wealth Professional magazine.
