Fiera Capital aiming to join world’s top 100 asset managers

Fiera Capital has set its sights on a spot among the world’s top asset-management firms with a new multi-year strategic plan.

The objective of the firm’s 2022 Strategic Plan, according to a statement, is “to establish Fiera Capital as a top-tier, global, multi-strategy asset manager with top-quartile embedded strategies, recognized for its talented people and for providing the best solutions to its clients globally.”

“I am very proud to report that we are moving forward with a comprehensive plan … to achieve our goal of becoming one of the top 100 asset managers in the world,” said Fiera Capital Chairman and CEO Jean-Guy Desjardins. “Fiera Capital is at the forefront of investment management science, and we are passionate about creating sustainable wealth for our clients and value for our shareholders.”

The independent asset manager said it has more than $139 billion under management and is currently ranked 147th among global asset managers. To support its continued profitable growth and global client-service capabilities, the 2022 plan focuses on four pillars:

  • People – recognizing the primary role talent will continue to play in its growth, Fiera Capital aims to improve its employee engagement score to at least 80% by investing in its people and “leveraging the power of effective teamwork.”
  • Process – to drive effective processes, the firm is focusing on standardization, automation, and digitization; implementing global, scalable, and flexible technology architecture; improvements in integrating acquisitions; and continued innovation in collaboration and operations.
  • Performance – the firm seeks to drive growth by adapting and expanding its offering and distribution capabilities to reach global clients and international markets. That includes increasing synergies and cost efficiency across divisions; advancing global product lifecycle development and optimization; driving growth in alternative investments; and continuing to secure targeted, disciplined acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
  • Partners – the firm will work with its teams around the world to implement a consistent global brand strategy and best practices. That includes refining its digital client experience, adapting to the demand of multi-asset solutions and alternative investments, and leveraging institutional strengths across channels.

“The 2022 Plan will support the continued momentum of our global growth, specifically address and fill key gaps in our products and strategies, and better enable global distribution, ensuring Fiera Capital can provide any strategy, to any client, anywhere,” Desjardins said.
