Planswell widens access to financial planning software

Firm's unique client-led financial planning software will be available for free to advisors across the U.S. and Canada

Planswell widens access to financial planning software

Planswell, a Canada-borne financial planning software that has found success after launching in the U.S., is once again showing its commitment to help advisors and lower barriers to financial planning.

The firm has announced it will offer its advanced financial planning software – which uses a series of questions to create free, personalized financial plans for consumers in under three minutes – to financial advisors in the U.S. and Canada at no charge. The client-led financial planning software previously priced at $199 will be made available to advisors who get a free account at planswell.com/advisors.

“Our mission has always been to make the world’s most actionable financial planning experience accessible to everyone,” said Planswell CEO Eric Arnold. “We’ve been working to remove the traditional barriers that made quality financial advice a luxury, and to reshape the industry. Putting the best tools in the hands of qualified advisors is a monumental step in that direction.”

After an investment of more than $20 million to build its unique client-led planning engine, Planswell launched a B2B offering for advisors in April 2020, making sure the software was priced in line with others in the market.

The software’s unique design also has the end user initiating financial planning conversations, which Arnold said turns client prospecting and onboarding on its head. Using their mobile device, clients can build a comprehensive financial plan in three minutes – which includes mortgage, debt, investment, and cash flow considerations – and make it available to their advisor.

“We’ve built the fastest and most delightful plan-building experience for both sides of the market,” he said. The software’s ability to accelerate meaningful conversations with clients, he added, frees up advisors’ capacity to serve more consumers.

Aside from its proprietary financial planning software, the company offers qualified advisors free access to  highly rated training and support, a popular CRM, a unique plan-building link, peer leadership, and a library of self-guided resources. Advisors taking on new clients can also better meet their growth goals with the option to use Planswell’s client-matching service on a month-to-month basis.

With a footprint that spans the United States and Canada, Planswell has created over 400,000 free financial plans and served over 2,000 financial advisors
