Firm's newest ETFs sit at the intersection of thematic technology investment and ESG

Invesco offers ESG-tilted exposure to Nasdaq companies

Invesco Canada has expanded its ESG and innovation-oriented investment offerings with two new ETFs.

With the launch of Invesco ESG NASDAQ 100 Index ETF and Invesco ESG NASDAQ Next Gen 100 Index ETF, which are listed on the TSX, the firm is advancing its goal of offering investors the chance to get more specialized exposure to Nasdaq-listed companies.

“As a continuation of our critical partnership and collaboration with Nasdaq we have developed the next generation solution for investors seeking access to innovative companies as part of their portfolio,” said Pat Chiefalo, head of ETFs & Indexed Strategies Canada, Invesco. “Today's ETF launch provides access to disruptive market themes filtered through Nasdaq's robust ESG criteria, supported by Sustainalytics' market leading ESG data, offering investors another unique way to help meet their desired investment outcomes."

The Invesco ESG NASDAQ 100 Index ETF, which has the tickers QQCE and QQCE.F, offers investors exposure to the same companies as the Invesco NASDAQ 100 Index ETF, except with a tilt towards ESG-related values. Likewise, the Invesco ESG NASDAQ Next Gen 100 Index ETF is listed as QQJE and QQJE.F, and it contemplates investments in the same companies as the Invesco NASDAQ Next Gen 100 Index ETF while applying an ESG filter.

QQCE and QQJE track the performance of the Nasdaq-100 ESG Index and Nasdaq Next Generation 100 ESG Index, respectively. The two benchmarks look at substantially the same opportunity sets as the Nasdaq-100 Index and the Nasdaq Next Generation 100 Index, respectively, except Nasdaq applies a robust set of ESG criteria underpinned by Sustainalytics’ market-leading ESG data to assign ESG risk scores to companies and favourably weight those with lower scores.

“The interest in integrating ESG considerations into investment portfolios is on the rise globally. We are pleased to work with Invesco to introduce a refined and ESG-friendly version of one of the world's most preeminent benchmarks,” said Lauren Dillard, executive vice president and head of Investment Intelligence at Nasdaq. “The strength of Nasdaq-100 Index underscores the innovation and transformative changes of the companies within their respective industries.”
