New figures from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation show that housing starts increased in January.

New figures from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation show that housing starts increased in January with a seasonally-adjusted annualised rate of 187,276 units, up from 179,637 units in December. Although as usual there are some regional differences and the six-month rolling average has declined by just over 3,000 units, the general picture was more positive than had been expected.
