Fund roundup: managers launch new ETFs and adjust fees across Canada

CI Global Asset Management, Ninepoint Partners, Harvest Portfolios, Desjardins Investments, and CIBC Asset Management have each announced changes to their fund lineups, ranging from digital asset ETFs to management fee reductions. 

CI Global Asset Management 

CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM) expanded its digital asset lineup.  

The CI Galaxy Core Multi-Crypto ETF (CCCX) is now trading on the TSX under CCCX, CCCX.B, and CCCX.U, offering exposure to bitcoin, ether, and solana.  

CI also introduced the CI Solana Fund, providing mutual fund investors access to solana through CI Galaxy Solana ETF. 

The firm added Canadian dollar hedged series across its digital asset lineup and will implement a staking strategy for CI Galaxy Ethereum ETF (ETHX) on August 27, with up to 50 percent of holdings allocated to staking. In addition, several ETF names changed:

ECHI wraps the 10 single-stock ETFs into one portfolio. Fees are set at 0 percent until February 28, 2026, before moving to 0.29 percent. 

Desjardins Investments 

Desjardins Investments will reduce management fees on eight funds by up to 9 basis points starting October 1.  

The changes affect Canadian Bond, Sustainable Canadian Bond, Enhanced Bond, Canadian Equity Income, Sustainable Canadian Equity Income, Canadian Equity, Canadian Equity Focused, and Sustainable Canadian Equity.
