Manulife gets access to Asian customers in $1.2 billion deal

Canada’s Manulife will be able to expand in large parts of Asia having signed a new deal with the region’s DBS Bank which will start in 2016.

Canada’s Manulife will be able to expand in large parts of Asia having signed a new deal with the region’s DBS Bank which will start in 2016. Manulife will pay $1.2 billion to access the bank’s network of branches in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia. Insurance penetration is relatively low in Asia but with a growing middle class there is huge scope for Manulife’s products.
