The Fed starts its two day monetary policy meeting Tuesday and is being widely anticipated by the world markets. Biotech stocks weakened the finish for Wall Street Monday and the major indexes closed lower despite expectation for Apple’s earnings. In Asia some positive earnings helped push Tokyo higher but most of the other major indexes have closed with losses having started with the lower lead from the US. European markets are also lower so far Tuesday as missed earnings data and concern over Greece continue to dominate.
US stock futures are trending lower. Oil is trending lower (Brent $64.69, WTI $56.86 at 6am ET). Gold is trending lower.
