A technical glitch has temporarily halted trading in all symbols on the New York Stock Exchange floor.

A technical glitch has temporarily halted trading in all symbols on the New York Stock Exchange floor.

"We're currently experiencing a technical issue that we're working to resolve as quickly as possible,” the NYSE said in a statement on its status page. “We will be providing further updates as soon as we can, and are doing our utmost to produce a swift resolution, communicate thoroughly and transparently, and ensure a timely and orderly market re-open.”

Trading ground to halt at approximately 11:30 a.m. ET. Investors can still trade on the Nasdaq, which was unaffected.

The Department of Homeland Security quashed notions of a cyber-attack, telling CNN that there is "no sign of malicious activity" at the NYSE at this time.
