Fiera Capital names new executive vice president

The independent asset management firm has announced the new head of their Strategic Investment Partnerships team

Fiera Capital announced in an August 16 release a decision to appoint Julie Lalonde, CFA, to the position of executive vice president, Retail Markets and Strategic Investment Partnerships (SIP), of Fiera Capital's Canadian division effective on September 1.

In her new position, Ms. Lalonde will be heading the firm’s overall retail markets business in Canada while leading the SIP team, which is responsible for the firm’s most major partners. She will continue to report to Sylvain Roy, President and Chief Operation Officer of Fiera Capital's Canadian division.

"I am extremely pleased that Julie accepted this new challenge. This appointment is consistent with our plan to develop our retail business and to offer Fiera Capital's differentiated investment solutions such as alternative strategies, true alpha traditional strategies and innovative structured solutions, to financial advisors and retail clients. Additionally, Julie's expertise will be very valuable to maintain and improve our high-quality client service," said Mr. Roy. "Julie's leadership, keen focus on clients, thorough knowledge of our suite of strategies in both the traditional and alternative space, and her experience with diverse distribution channels will enable us to efficiently bring products to market and build our growing retail business."

Ms. Lalonde has an investment industry track record spanning nearly 20 years, around 8 years of which she has spent with Fiera Capital since 2008. Prior to heading the SIP, she held senior positions within the firm's Institutional Markets team, where she was responsible for marketing and client servicing for institutional clients, along with the marketing and development of the firm's alternative strategies. She has also served separate stints as director of investments at two major multinational pension funds.
