More work in the green energy sector than oilsands

A new report shows that a rise in the number of people employed in Canada’s renewable energy sector by 37 per cent means that there are more workers in the green-energy sector than there are in the oilsands.

A new report shows that a rise in the number of people employed in Canada’s renewable energy sector by 37 per cent means that there are more workers in the green-energy sector than there are in the oilsands. The study by Clean Energy Canada says there are 23,700 in renewables and 22,340 in oil. It also estimates that there has been a $24 billion investment in green energy in the last five years with power companies in Quebec, BC and Ontario leading the way. Read the full story.
