​Canadians and the government would benefit from raising cross-border tax threshold

Ottawa would benefit along with millions of Canadian consumers if the threshold for cross-border taxes was raised to $200.

Ottawa would benefit along with millions of Canadian consumers if the threshold for cross-border taxes was raised to $200. That’s according to research from the Conference Board of Canada which has calculated that as well as obvious savings to consumers, the federal government would save on administration costs and more. The current level before taxes kick in is $20 per transaction.
