Wealth management veterans head list of Canada’s most powerful

Finance industry’s women dominate WXN’s top 100 most powerful women list for Canada

Women with positions in banking, investment and financial advising feature heavily on this year’s list of the top 100 powerful women in Canada generated by WXN.

Since 2003, the top 100 awards have celebrated the accomplishments of executive talent in various sectors including wealth and finance. The awards recognize talented leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and aim to inspire the current and next generations to ‘push the boundaries of what's possible.’

"WXN Top 100 Award Winners are powerful women both in their careers and their potential to transcend boundaries to have a greater impact on the communities around them," said Pamela Jeffery, WXN founder.

Co-presented by Scotiabank and KPMG, a celebration gala will take place tonight in Toronto to celebrate the strong females.

"For these highly accomplished women, receiving a Top 100 Award means much more than recognition or a chance to share the spotlight with other remarkable winners; it's an opportunity to pay it forward."

Some of the women ranking high on the list include Carol Osler, SVP, head of financial crimes and fraud management and enterprise project management at TD, Cindy Forbes, EVP and chief actuary at Manulife and Geeta Sankappanavar, president and COO with Grafton Asset Management.

As well as announcing the top 100 women, WXN is also inducting twelve women into its hall of fame. In the list there also features several women from the finance sector including Laura Dottori-Attanasio, senior executive vice president and chief risk officer, CIBC.
