Association positioning itself for regulator status?

Advocis branches out to meet French-speaking demand

Advocis, the financial advisors association of Canada, is making a change and incorporating the French language into their Advocis Protective Association errors and omissions insurance program.

The non-profit organization, which sets ethical standards for planners, will now offer some of its information in the French language that both individuals as well as firms will be able to access in the region of Quebec as well as other regions.

This comes after Advocis recently reached an agreement with SRO, the Chambre de la sécurité financière in Quebec, to offer their Life Licence Qualification Program in French.

Advocis’ Protective Association errors and omissions insurance program is managed by Willis Canada Inc. and offers sustainable insurance to financial advisors and planners. Purchasing the product online is said to take less than 10 minutes, a process that will certainly be sped up for those whose first language is French.

The program, and the accompanying website, can now be accessed in French after being launched in November at The Insurance and Investment Convention in Montreal.
