AGF announces new marketing head

AGF announces new marketing head Independent investment management firm AGF Investments has appointed Karrie Van Belle as senior vice president, head of marketing and communications. Van Belle will direct and lead AGF’s marketing and communications for both retail and institutional channels, including digital marketing efforts. She will also bear overall responsibility for the firm’s corporate branding focus.

"Karrie brings a wealth of experience in leading teams to drive exceptional results," said Blake Goldring, chairman and CEO of AGF Management Limited. "We are thrilled to have someone with her industry background and expertise across multiple disciplines within marketing and communications."

Van Belle’s experience includes 15 years in the Canadian asset management industry, spanning a range of client segments and product platforms. She has been involved in promoting innovation in marketing while managing marketing and communications strategies for retail, institutional and ETF platforms.

Her most recent position was a stint as managing director, head of Canada marketing and communications at BlackRock Asset Management Canada Limited, where she was responsible for delivering brand growth and relevance to the firm’s retail and institutional clientele by building, communicating, and executing effective marketing and press strategies.

Van Belle is taking over the position from Interim Head of Marketing and Communications Jay Bhutani, who is moving on to the position of senior vice president, head of ETF strategy. In his new role, Bhutani will take responsibility for leading the development and distribution strategies for the ETF platform in Canada.

“I want to thank Jay for his leadership during this transition,” said Goldring. “As he moves into this new role, he will play an integral part in launching our ETF offerings in early 2017 through QuantShare Advisor.”

This is an exciting new collaboration leveraging the complementary strengths of AGF's investment professionals from Highstreet and FFCM,” said Bhutani, who draws on 20 years of experience in asset management, product development, and business development to help in his new position.
