The surge of the Wall Street markets Wednesday has helped kick-start global indexes Thursday. The Dow closed up more than 600 points in the previous session and the sentiment spread to Asia overnight with China’s main index closing up more than 5 per cent.

European markets have been buoyed by the rise in Asia, following a weaker finish Wednesday. The major indexes are 2 to 3 per cent higher so far.
