Wind Mobile has won Ottawa’s auction of new mobile spectrum in Alberta, BC and Ontario and will build the next generation of mobile networks for the provinces. The federal finance minister announced that the process raised $2.11 billion. Telus, BCE and Eastlink were also winners while Rogers Communications missed out. Mobilicity did not bid; meanwhile the government has asked the Supreme Court to throw out a law suit by a group of the firm’s shareholders.
