The latest unemployment figures released by the UK government, show a drop of 161,000 in the three months to April, with the total now at 2.16 million or 6.6%. The level is a 5 year low, although over 800,000 of those out of work are in the 16-24 age group. Wages including bonuses slowed but excluding bonuses were up by just under one percent.
